Concrete kitchen counter tops to be exact. After visiting a restaurant that had them at the bar, I am now in LOVE with them. I’ve seen some DIY’s out there, but not sure if it’s something I would want to tackle. Anyone DIY’d their own concrete counter tops? Anyone LOVE or HATE their concrete counters? Wondering how much upkeep they would need. I hear sealing them well is a really big key to keeping them looking their best. Meanwhile, please drool over the following counters.

I really want to renovate our kitchen. I love to cook, so having a beautiful kitchen is just as important to me as having beautiful and tasty food. If i have my way, I want open shelving above the counters. I also want butcher block counter tops. These are lovely as well as the metal shelves. Think the shelves are from Ikea, maybe?
White shelves make the space more airy, which I need to a smallish kitchen. Love those spot lights.
Oh! To only have a fabulous chandelier in the kitchen!
I currently have two swatches of color similar to this up on the cabinets right now. I love the turquoise cabinets with the butcher block counters and the white walls.

Renovating the kitchen is a big project and it’s not one that we will get around to anytime soon, but a girl can dream.
Oh Oh Oh Ohhhhhhh. Cue the 2009 Mariah song. OK, ok, enough. My new favorite place to find home decor inspiration is Lonny Mag. Have you seen this online shelter magazine? It’s fabulous. + old Domino issues that I flip thru once in a while. Here are two rooms that I am currently obsessed with.
This one is from Domino, their last issue. I adore the simplicity of this room and the fact that it looks like it could be a hotel room or someone’s bedroom. Really REALLY thinking about replicating it for one of our guest bedrooms. I just love it that much.
Oh those ferns and that black lacquer table with the leather. Swoon. And I love that the walls are white and the window is black! What an easy trick to make a big impact. Wonder what the window trim in the living room would look like black…
I’m not sure if it’s the weather that has me drawn to it or my changing tastes, but I find myself craving black in my home. Walls, doors, windows, etc. Which makes sense that I am crazy in love with Anthony Gianacakos bedroom from the afore mentioned Lonny Mag.

Oddly, I’m finding that I’m being drawn to more masculine items in my recent photo searches. Trying to move away from the girly girly. More inspiration to come, I’m dreaming of blue cabinets and open shelving…
