exhibit a :: Valentines Weekend [snow 35-]

exhibit b :: The following weekend[sunshine 60+]

Yes, that is Arabella swinging with me. She begged to get up there with me and when I got her up, she stayed, just like that, for about 15 minutes straight. Falling asleep as we swung in the sunshine.

Halloween always means one thing to me :: the costume party at the barn. I always try and get as many kids as possible to join in and make costumes for themselves and a chosen school horse. This year was the best year yet, with around15 kids dressing up! It was awesome!
I originally wanted to go as a mermaid and make Wiley the pony go as the Rainbow Fish. Alas, I did not get started in time. Then I was going to be a Pegasus and Grecian goddess. Too much work. So here’s what I came up with ::

A birthday girl (blindfolded of coarse) and her pinata! I’m not sure why I look like I have redneck teeth in this photo, but the lighting is bad in the barn and it was dark for costume contest. This is the best shot we got.
Jason dressed up as a mummy for work. He shredded sheets on Thursday night and then Friday morning I wrapped him all up!

It was pretty great. Didn’t last all day, but was fun anyway! A cheap and awesome way to celebrate!
Ok, so yes, we do like to torture our animals and make them dress up. This year it was the Dachshunds turn. Target had the best dog costumes this year and Mauii and Ara went as a lobster and a princess. I have yet to get great photos of them dressed up. All the ones I have are blurry. A photo shoot is on my to-do list for this week! BUT we did get to torture poor poor BAK (bad ass kitty) Tottenham.

Costume #1 chicken. Awesome. He’s thrilled, can’t you tell?

Best costume yet! Just a squirrel trying to get a nut! That’s me holding him up and laughing! He was soo pissed and it was sooo funny. We love you Tottenham!
Hopefully I’ll be back later this week with some good shots of the girls all dressed up! Hope you had a great Halloween! We got lots of trick-or-treaters banging on our new yellow door! Jason was jumping up every 5 minutes to hand out candy!

This is Mauii, our oldest child, an 8 year old “semi-miniature” longhair dachshund. She is modeling the new woven rug I purchased on Wednesday at Home Goods for the front door. I think she’s ready for America’s Next Top Model, don’t you?
